Writing from the Center:

Vicki has a classic 7 circle Cretan labyrinth on her rural Uxbridge Township property 15 minutes east of Newmarket and 15 minutes west of Uxbridge . Discover the power of writing using the energy of the labyrinth for your meditative walks, writing and other creative endeavours.

Stone Soup Writing

How are you doing with your social distancing and social isolation? I hope it’s going well and that you’re getting some quiet time to let the noise of the world drain and let some creative thoughts in.I did a writing prompt the other day. “What if…” thanks to Maureen Buchanan Jones. My mind went to, what if the virus came to the land of myths and stories???? The result is a reworking of Stone Soup, posted here.What if this time is the cauldron our stories need to go into to bake, simmer and stew? What if the resulting ‘soup’ will change the world and how we interact with it? What if we could get together and write, witness each others’ stories in a compassionate way? How would that change what we are going through now?

Let’s find out and write together in my Zoom room. Every Thursday April 2 – May 7th, I will have 2 opportunities to write. One from 2 -4 :30pm ET and the other from 7 – 9:30pm
You bring, paper, your favorite and most magical writing instrument, Tea, cookies, tissue and your ingredients for the Stone Soup.

Where: Say yes and I will send you a secret map to my zoom room – with instructions to get in on your computer, tablet or phone.
Time: 2-4:30 or 7 – 9:30pm ET
Cost: $15/session or $80/6 – If you are struggling financially during this tough time, what can you afford?  We need your stories too. All are welcome.

Labyrinth: Do you need space to take a meditative walk? I am making my rural labyrinth available for families or singles who are socially isolated but would love to feel the breeze on their faces and walk as the season bursts forth. Come, walk and witness spring as it unfolds. Call for an appointment. I will make sure you have the labyrinth to yourself and give you a place to sit down with your notebook after if you need to write.

Write Around The World

This year I will be participating in Write Around The World, a fundraiser to support Amherst Writers and Artists by holding an online workshop May 14, from 1:30 until 4. In May certified leaders from 26 countries hold writing workshops using the same prompts to bring attention to the great work of Amherst Writers and Artists and to raise funds for their programs.
